Terms and Conditions of Sale

1. Passing Of Property
1.1. Until the Purchaser has paid the full price for the goods, they shall remain the property of Hobby Components Ltd and the purchaser shall hold the goods in a fiduciary capacity.

1.2. The Purchaser shall hold the goods in such a way as to identify them clearly as belonging to Hobby Components Ltd and ensure that the Purchaser is not, nor deemed to be, a reputed owner of the goods.

1.3. If at any time, payment of the price due to Hobby Components Ltd is overdue, Hobby Components Ltd may by its servant or agents dispose of the goods and the purchaser shall make no claim against Hobby Components Ltd in respect of such entry or disposal.

2. Passing The Risk
The risk in the goods supplied shall pass to the Purchaser on delivery to the Purchaser’s designated premises.

3. Non Delivery / Loss Or Damage In Transit
3.1. Hobby Components Ltd shall be notified via email of non-receipt of any goods by the Purchaser within twenty (20) working days of the invoice date, failing which, Hobby Components Ltd shall be under no liability whatsoever to the Purchaser who shall nevertheless indemnify Hobby Components Ltd for any loss or damage arising from failure to inform the carriers or insurers within the required time limits.

3.2. The Purchaser must inform Hobby Components Ltd of any alleged partial loss or damage to the goods in transit immediately following actual receipt. The purchaser shall give Hobby Components Ltd reasonable opportunity to inspect goods damaged in transit.

4. Payment Of Business Accounts
All business accounts must be paid within thirty (30) days from the date of invoice, unless special terms have been arranged with Hobby Components Ltd.

 
5. Sale By Sample
5. These terms apply if the contract of sale is a contract for sale by sample.

5.1 The purchaser shall be deemed to have had a reasonable opportunity of comparing the bulk of any consignment of goods with the sample after 2 days from delivery have expired.

5.2 Upon the purchaser having been deemed to have had a reasonable opportunity of comparing the bulk of any consignment with the sample the purchaser will also be deemed to have notice of any defect rendering the goods not in accordance with the contract and to have accepted all the goods so delivered.

6. Sale By Description
6.1 The goods shall be supplied in accordance with the description contained in Hobby Component's specification.

6.2 Hobby Components Ltd may from time to time make changes in the specification of the goods which are required to comply with any applicable safety or statutory requirements or which do not materially affect the quality or fitness for the purpose of the goods.

6.3 Any contractual description of the goods by Hobby Components relates to the identity of the goods but only if it relates to a central characteristic of the goods or to a substantial ingredient in their identity.

6.4 Due to the nature of the products sold by Hobby Components the customer (you) are expected to have a technical understanding of the product being purchased. Unless otherwise stated in the items description, the sale of the product is for the hardware only. Where we will always do our best to provide after-sales technical support we have no obligation to provide support beyond determining that the items sold are in good working order and are working as advertised. Additional libraries, example code, and diagrams are provided as a free service by Hobby Components and are not sold as part of the product. 7. Exclusion of our liability
7.1 All terms conditions warranties and representations (whether implied or made expressly) whether by Hobby Components Ltd, its servants or agents, or otherwise (other than those express warranties set out in the current edition of the seller's specification) relating to the quality and / or fitness for the purpose of the goods or any of the goods are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by the Law.

7.2 Notwithstanding The Sale of Goods Act 1979 Section 35A(1) acceptance of some of the goods by the purchaser whether conforming to the contract or not shall deprive the purchaser of the right to reject the rest of the goods whether they conform to the contract or not.

7.3 Hobby Components Ltd shall be under no liability whatever to the purchaser for any indirect loss and/or expense (including loss of profit) suffered by the purchaser arising out of a breach by Hobby Components Ltd of this contract.

7.4 In the event of any breach of this contract by Hobby Components Ltd the remedies of the purchaser shall (subject to the limitations on the liability of Hobby Components Ltd set out above) be limited to damages. Under no circumstances shall the liability of Hobby Components Ltd exceed the price of the goods.

7.5 Documentation that specifies the applicable inspection standard and class needs to be provided (in writing) at the time of placing each order. In the absence of any documentation, Hobby Components Ltd shall choose the appropriate quality criteria.

8. Privacy Policy        
At Hobby Components Ltd, we respect your privacy. When you shop with us, we will ask for personal information such as your name, email address, billing address, product selections, and payment information.

We may also collect information about where you are on the Internet (such as the website you came from, IP address, domain types like .co.uk and .com), your browser type, the country where your internet service provider is located, the pages of our site that were viewed during your visit, and any search terms that you used.

Personal information you provide is used by us only for the following purposes:

  • To improve your shopping experience at our website
  • To process your order
  • With your permission, to notify you of products or special offers that may be of interest to you

We will never pass on your personal information, including email address or contact information to any third party companies or organisations.

9. Delivery of Goods
Delivery will be made by Royal Mail and transport charges added to our sales invoice, unless otherwise agreed. Where goods are dispatched using the customer’s specified courier on their own account a nominal charge will be added to the relevant invoice to cover packing materials and administration costs.

10. Return Policy

Returns are accepted for faulty items or items damaged in transit. Customers must contact us within 14 days of receipt of item to arrange returns. If your item arrives damaged, please contact us immediately at sales@hobbycomponents.com giving a description of the problem, and if possible attach photographs of the item and packaging. This will allow us to process your return as quickly as possible.

Items may be returned within 14 days for whatever reason, but must be returned unused and in their original condition. Postage on items returned unwanted and in good working order will be at the cost of the customer. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that items get to us safely.

Items returned faulty that are subsequently found to be in good working order will be returned at cost to the customer.

When returning a faulty item, we can only reimburse delivery costs if supplied with a copy of the postage receipt.

Reimbursement for return costs must be agreed upon before returning item(s). We cannot reimburse for items returned via courier.
